Director, Business Development - Enterprise at Color

We are transforming how clinical-grade genetic testing is done by removing financial, educational, and geographic barriers. Our goal is to expand physician-supported access to genetic testing to help every person, everywhere understand their risk for hereditary disorders.
Color’s Enterprise Sales team works with large strategic employers who want to transform their prevention and employee health programs through Color. As a Business Development Director for Enterprise, you will bring Color to medium-sized and large employers across the country, helping them understand the value of Color to their employees’ health and their benefits strategies. We’re looking for a thoughtful, analytical, results-oriented relationship builder who can execute flawlessly at every stage of the sales process, understand our partners’ needs, work closely with senior Benefits and HR executives, and translate a clinical product and experience into impact for our customers.

In this role you will:


    • Represent Color to one of our most important external constituencies -- employers 
    • Lead all sales efforts across key named employer accounts, including prospecting new opportunities, driving opportunities through qualification and business case, contracting, and successfully transitioning customers to our implementation and partner management team
    • Design and execute a territory strategy for your assigned geography/accounts, to include events, partnerships with key stakeholders including local consultants and brokers, and direct outreach 
    • Own the end-to-end evaluation process for all of your opportunities
    • Cultivate relationships with existing and new channel partners, including leading benefits consultants
    • Elevate the strategy of our go-to-market efforts within the employer space, including helping evolve our positioning and pitch, think strategically about the best targets, and drive strategic conversations to close
    • Maintain strong pipeline hygiene 
    • Work effectively with our marketing, implementation, product, and clinical teams
    • Represent Color at regional and national conferences

What we're looking for:


    • 6+ years of relevant experience selling to employer benefits and/or human resources executives, and/or selling high-value, technology-enabled services to Fortune 500 companies
    • Top performer with a demonstrable track record of exceeding quota
    • Results driven and action-oriented approach to your work, with the ability to think strategically and to sweat the details
    • Proactive and intellectually curious, and a creative, flexible, and analytical thinker who can quickly change directions and problem-solve through new situations
    • A desire to dramatically improve the quality of care that people receive, and the ability to connect that improvement to demonstrable enterprise value
    • Leaves ego at the door
    • Clinical / healthcare experience a plus
    • Consulting background a plus
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Ability to travel up to 25%
