Senior People Operations Generalist at Turo

As a Sr. People Ops Generalist, you will advise employees and managers on a wide range of day-to-day People Ops inquiries. You will play a key role in driving an excellent employee experience by supporting programs, policies, processes, and systems.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Advise employees on day-to-day inquiries related to pay, benefits, learning, policies, employee data, and People Ops systems; escalate as appropriate.
  • Investigate minor employee complaints and policy questions that arise through multiple channels (Slack, email, etc.), and triage as needed with People Ops team
  • Own the employee experience from offer acceptance through onboarding, ensuring a smooth and valuable experience. 
  • Facilitate the smooth onboarding and offboarding of employees.
  • Be the first point of contact for benefits questions, etc. and manage open enrollment
  • Coach managers in navigating performance, attendance, disability accommodations, and other basic employee relations cases.
  • Partner directly with leaders and People Ops business partners on planning and implementing employee separations, transfers, assignments, reorganizations, and other complex employment actions.
  • Analyze employment data to help inform decisions for People Ops and our businesses.
  • Identify ways to improve our people operations, including systems and processes to support our growth at scale.
  • Support the launch and communication of engagement surveys and results to teams across Turo.

 

Requirements

 

  • Helpfulness and the ability to go above and beyond to deliver a great customer experience.
  • A collaborative mindset with a focus on teamwork, transparency, and open communication.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects and complex cases that span multiple weeks/months.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Experience advising employees and managers, ideally with some exposure to employee relations.
  • Ability to identify potential risks and analyze problems.
  • Comfortable communicating with employees at all levels, including verbal and written.
  • Strong working knowledge of US labor laws and employment policies.
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices (at least five years of HR experience, preferably working with a global tech company).
  • Experience with cloud-based HR systems (ADP WorkforceNow is ideal).
  • Technical expertise Google Docs, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
