Senior Technical Writer (Contract Position) at Fetch Robotics

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Writer who can thrive in a startup environment. Our information developers don't just transcribe tech talks. They use the software to create procedures and concept topics, and work with Engineering teams throughout the development and testing process. They strive to produce use case-based content, video tutorials, and product walkthroughs aimed at administrators and nontechnical end users.



  • Write original technical content for complex systems composed of hardware and software components.
  • Write API documentation.
  • Ensure delivery of top quality documentation in time with our release schedule. 
  • Manage documentation and video projects involving multiple project teams. 
  • Solve information challenges with the efficient use of time and resources. 
  • Optimize documentation production for speed, quality, and effectiveness. 


Required Skills/Qualifications 


  • Excellent writing skills, with experience writing technical procedures and concept topics for a range of audiences. 
  • Top-notch ability to write clearly and succinctly in a way that encourages users to use our product, and then make sure that they are able to do so easily.
  • Knowledge of, or ability to learn robotics, cloud-based robotics software, and industrial environments like warehouses, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Expertise in developing structured and reusable content using DITA/XML.
  • BS or BA degree, with a focus in Communications, English, Instructional Design, User Research, Education, or a related discipline. 
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience 
  • 5+ years of experience with tools for creating, managing, and publishing technical documentation
  • Fluency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, Google G-Suite.
