As Senior Counsel, or Partner, on the Atrium Contracts team your primary responsibilities will include drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts while playing a central role in building out processes and up-leveling associates and contracts managers on the team. You will provide solution-based legal guidance on a wide range of legal issues such as privacy, data and intellectual property protection, and advise  some of the hottest, fast-growing startups in Silicon Valley. You will have substantial technology transactions experience having worked in a law firm and/or in-house. You will be responsible for building out and managing the Atrium Contracts team.  

What will you be doing?

Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, from the first form customer contracts for early-stage startups to complex licensing or development agreements between fast-growing venture-backed enterprises

Mentor, train and supervise the associates and contract managers on the team. 

Advise early stage, venture backed companies on cutting-edge legal issues, with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives

Lead your client engagements and manage your clients directly

Test and provide feedback on new legal technology products and processes that make your practice more efficient

Manage the Atrium Contracts team with full P&L responsibility

Identify opportunities to establish and lead execution and implementation of processes, forms, and operations to make Atrium Contracts team members more efficient

What does success look like in this role?

California Bar membership in good standing required

8+ years experience drafting, advising, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, covering the sale of products and services, licensing, technology transactions, etc.

AmLaw 100 law firm and/or in-house counsel on a licensing or revenue team

Deep technical expertise in contract law and intellectual property protection 

Ability to work efficiently and independently

Creative problem solver, willing to think “outside the box”

Entrepreneurial interest in disrupting the legal industry

Willingness to train and mentor associate attorneys
