Our PR & Communications team’s mission is to make Canva a household name across the globe. The team work collaboratively to create and implement integrated communications strategies generating buzz and awareness of Canva.
We are now looking for a creative and visionary Designer to bring ideas to life in new and inspiring ways. In this role, you'll design across a variety of creative assets such as media collaterals (infographics, reports), event posters, videos, animations, branded merchandise, landing pages, social media visuals, presentations, and internal materials. Simultaneously, you will also be supporting the teams in the People Group such as: Talent Acquisition, Team Happiness, Vibe, and Canva University. 
You will be a master of the visual language with the ability to spot a pixel off from 10 meters. You’ll be be able to distill complex ideas into visceral imagery and tell compelling and emotive stories through design. You will be flexible in your time and thinking, willing to contribute to new and exciting ideas, and feel comfortable taking on multiple projects at once

What you'll do...

  • Produce engaging visual content with the PR and Communications team and the rest of the People Group of Canva. This will include collateral for internal and external events, talent acquisition efforts, social media content and templates, office signages, and a whole lot
  • Support and work alongside the People Group’s Designer in Sydney to look at new design styles and formats to support wider communications campaigns
  • Work with the Communications Manager to develop a content calendar to ensure a constant supply of appealing visual content that help build brand affinity and recognition, as well as a sense of community
  • Run design bootcamps in Manila to train and empower the Canva team to use the product and create amazing designs
  • Active participation in brainstorms and other idea-generating sessions
  • Liaise with other teams internally to align on brand guidelines.

You'll love this if you have...

  • 2+ years experience as a Graphic/Visual Designer creating a diverse range of marketing materials
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your passion for designing clean, elegant, and beautiful designs
  • Advanced design sense and mastery of hand illustration, typography, color, conceptual graphic design, and layout creation
  • Up-to-date knowledge of various design mediums, and how best to leverage them
  • The confidence to try new things, and a passion for big ideas and storytelling
  • Effective group facilitator who enjoys teaching design, running design bootcamps, and empowering others to be great designers
While we won’t be taking any blood samples, we’d love to see some Startup DNA – you will need to be flexible, pragmatic, strategic, tenacious, and take ownership of deliverables and outcomes – ya gotta have hustle!
