Research Manager at RDMD

RDMD is looking for a research manager with interests in rare disease clinical research and program management. You will be an essential part of the RDMD Research Team and will manage research projects that utilize real world data from medical records, both within RDMD and in collaboration with external partners, such as academic researchers, foundations, and biopharmaceutical companies. This includes identifying and scoping out new research ideas or collaborations, assisting in project execution, and driving forward peer-reviewed publications and thought leadership pieces. You will also assist in the development of RDMD’s best practices for using real world evidence in rare disease research. This is the perfect role for a scientist or clinician who wants to work collaboratively to solve some of the most difficult challenges facing rare disease research and drug development.

 

Responsibilities

 

Manage a portfolio of real world evidence research studies within RDMD and with our external research partners

Help lead publications, abstracts, and thought leadership pieces that highlight RDMD’s capabilities

Assist in the execution of projects with biopharmaceutical companies, serving as the research and scientific voice on project teams

Support identification of new collaboration opportunities with key rare disease stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, nonprofits, and biopharma companies

Act as an internal research expert, and through that lens, contribute to the development of the RDMD research product and the RDMD research protocol

 

Requirements

 

MS in a biomedical field with 2-3 years of research experience or MD, PhD, or MD/PhD with 1-2 years of research experience

Demonstrated interest in rare disease research

Experience managing research projects and collaborations with other scientists, pharma partners, or clinicians

Past abstracts and / or publications using clinical data

Experience with developing protocols or collecting data for natural history studies, medical chart reviews, or real-world evidence

Ability to translate complex scientific topics into concise, clear communications (written and verbal) that can be understood by scientists and non-scientists alike

Endlessly resourceful, organized, and self-motivated; you’re not afraid to dive into a complex problem and try to figure it out

Exceptional ability to manage timelines and stay organized

Must be able to work in person in the San Francisco Bay Area
