About the Role

Highspot’s accounting team is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support our day-to-day global accounting and monthly close processes. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a well-funded company in hyper-growth mode. This is a hands-on position that will assist with driving the improvement of tools, processes, and procedures to allow the company to rapidly scale. The role is based in our Seattle Headquarters.
What You'll Do
  • Execute accurate reporting, enabling the department to analyze options and make financial recommendations that align with company objectives
  • Lead the company in securing our financial information, and that of our customers, and spearhead or participate in special projects as needed within the department, within a broader finance environment, and/or cross-functionally
  • Periodically improve and document all accounting control procedures, identifying system issues and making suggestions for improvements
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and advising management on needed actions
  • Continue your training with classes, workshops, webinars, professional publications, professional networks and associations
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
  • Review journal entries, processes and reconciliations prepared by staff, identifying and thoroughly investigating any discrepancies and taking the proper corrective actions to resolve them
  • Mentor staff within department and/or team and transfer accounting/reporting knowledge to other team members
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by performing or directing forensic research of accounting issues for compliance, and establish quality over transactions and reporting
Your Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 5+ years corporate accounting experience, preferably in the tech industry
  • Personal integrity; ability to keep customer and company confidences
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
  • Experience in audit and international accounting
  • Strong detail and deadline orientation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in accounting, business administration, or finance
  • Working knowledge of accounting software platforms, including NetSuite, Salesforce, Concur, and Workday
  • Natural proficiency with or passion about numbers
  • Familiarity in a wide breadth of accounting areas
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
  • CPA license
