About the Role:


As the Produce Merchandising and Category Manager, you are directly responsible for selecting the items that go into our customers’ weekly boxes, and ensuring that they have the best selection at a price point that also hits our cost targets. You are directly responsible for ensuring that the inventory numbers are accurate to minimize shortages in customer orders. You will be reporting to the Director of Merchandising and assisting them in ensuring the successful delivery of produce boxes from our warehouse. The ideal candidate is experienced in profitability improvements, competitive analysis, and revenue growth.


·         Merchandising:

·         Curate weekly produce boxes, based on availability lists, current inventory, and projected orders

·         Responsible for consistently hitting produce cost targets for our boxes

·         Responsible for hitting pricing targets for each items (ensure competitive pricing by utilizing competitive pricing tools and internet research)

·         Analyze sales and product catalog data to recommend areas of improvement

·         Order shorts from local vendors in the South to ensure we have enough stock in emergency situations

·         Category Management:

·         Conduct daily audit and counting of inventory, ensuring accuracy of inventory in the warehouse

·         Regularly reports on patterns in metric data, including problematic vendors &  supply gaps or “shorts” from quality and/or yield accuracy

·         Update the quantities and allocations of items for each box type in our database

·         Release each box type for customer’s weekly customization window

·         Identify and source new product opportunities, negotiating all aspects of the life cycle (grouping of items, presentational needs, promotions, pricing, and more)

·         Strategize and plan on a constant basis to meet company gross margin goals and brand agenda

·         Serve as a liaison with other departments to provide support and information

Skills and Qualifications:

·         3+ years of experience within catalog and e-commerce merchandising

·         A proven record of achieving growth objectives for industry-relevant companies

·         Experience with analyzing financial concepts and data, and identifying risks and opportunities within product categories and vendors

·         Experience with product development and sourcing

·         Intermediate Excel skills. Demonstrable proficiency in creating reports or analyzing data.

Details of the Position:

·         Full-time exempt position reporting to remotely to the Director of Produce Merchandising and Category Management

·         Position based out of our Los Angeles, CA facility
