We are a global technology start-up with operations and engineering in Europe and the United States, launched by co-founders of Skype in 2014.
We have entered commercial operations with hundreds of robots driving along sidewalks across the United States and four countries in Europe. Soon there will be thousands (if not millions) of robots around the world. To help us build the breakthrough services of the future we are seeking a very talented Senior Technical Program Manager to join us.
About the role…
We are looking for an outstanding and driven Program Manager to help Starship reach our full growth velocity. You will be tasked with helping our teams achieve their highest level of performance and success. This means keeping them focused on delivering an industry-defining service for our customers, as well as increasing business value for our company. You will guide our people to set bold goals, bring multi-disciplinary teams together, synchronize timelines for complex projects, and identify dependencies and risks. Ultimately, you will facilitate, manage, track and communicate how we are effectively achieving our stated company goals.
A fundamental part of this role is working with teams across many offices and timezones to set OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) and to coordinate their work effort towards meeting those their shared targets. You will be an integral part of the connective tissue between Product, Engineering, Data, Business Development, Manufacturing, Operations, and Marketing Teams - helping them to seamlessly achieve as one team.

Primary Job Responsibilities

    • Drive our organization in focused execution towards our near-term business goals, in line with our strategy and vision
    • Drive end to end OKR planning, from goals setting to managing priorities through to synchronized resource planning and results reporting
    • Work closely with our product, engineering, operations, and marketing teams to establish ambitious goals with the support of our data team
    • Lead complex cross-functional projects from both a quarterly execution timeframe as well as the longer-term product lifecycle
    • Kicking-off new product programs with processes that ensure the team is thinking strategically whilst being focused on executing on near-term goals
    • Manage company-wide communications, internal communications (all hands, senior leadership meetings, product reviews, etc.)

As a baseline we'll expect you to have:

    • Minimum of 10+ years of program management experience, with a deep passion for improving team performance and delivering business success
    • Minimum of 5+ years experience leading a program management team with a focus on product management, technical product development and business operations
    • Demonstrated skill and passion for leading people in a results-driven environment. 
    • Hands-on experience working in technology companies with a strong track record of delivering a world-class customer experience along with ambitious business goals
    • Solid skills in leading diverse teams in planning their work, managing dependencies, resolving resourcing challenges, and in making data-informed tradeoff decisions
    • Extensive experience working with a range of product development methodologies in a multi-disciplinary team environment, with the ability to promote and manage the right approach for the context is key
    • Demonstrates a data-driven approach to establishing resourcing priorities and making tradeoffs
    • Is highly analytical with regards to aligning company work efforts towards agreed company goals and emergent business opportunities 
    • A track record as an expert in communication with a high level of ability to be both clear and direct, as well a confident listener
    • Excellent working practices for connecting a longer-term strategy with concrete execution
    • High-level of working maturity to constructively work with people who have a diverse set of expertise and experience levels

It's great if you have:

    • Masters or MBA
    • Demonstrated experience working with the OKR framework
    • Coaching experience with various program and project management methodologies
