Director of Recruiting at SendBird

SendBird is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Director of Recruiting to take on the ambitious task of defining and leading our recruiting strategy. We are assembling a dream team and are eager to meet ambitious, driven candidates who crave impact, thrive in ambiguity and want to experience a start-up shifting into hyper-growth.



Develop and implement recruiting strategy and programs to attract a world-class team and ensure ongoing pipeline of top talent. Programs may include: diversity and inclusion practices, employer branding, employee referral programs, interview training, and university recruiting.

Provide leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to the Recruiting team and hiring leaders on interviewing best practices, offer recommendations, negotiating/creating job offers, closing, and administrative functions involved in full-cycle recruiting.

Source and help hire top candidates across all roles.

Hire, coach, and manage a team of recruiters.

Refine hiring forecasting capabilities; establish and report on key recruiting metrics to measure team effectiveness and provide data-driven, actionable insights.

Build a strong, credible relationship with senior leaders, hiring managers and critical stakeholders; operate as trusted advisor and subject matter expert.

Build an efficient and standardized interview process that scales across roles and offices.

Partner with hiring managers to create individualized hiring plans and help improve how we interview and evaluate talent.

You are passionate about building teams and connecting people to the right opportunities. 

You know how to balance long-term focus with practical day-to-day execution. 

You keep diversity top of mind and continually look for ways to discover and engage with talent from underrepresented backgrounds to drive our values forward.

You have a strong understanding of current competitive job market and keep up to date on the latest trends in the recruiting space. 

You have a strong desire to understand all parts of the business, from product roadmap, sales numbers and metrics to the history on each employee and why they joined the company.

You are a strong team player and have the ability to influence and develop effective partnerships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.



8+ years of broad and progressive experience in full-cycle recruiting across different roles at both early stage and high-growth tech startups.

Experience hiring and managing recruiting teams.

Proven track record sourcing and hiring passive candidates.

Strong understanding of compensation, techniques and methodologies.

Familiarity with relevant tools and programs (e.g., applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn, referral programs, and job boards).

Experience working with remote or global teams a great plus.
