You are a seasoned and talented Character Artist looking to build the next generation of games for Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive. You have multiple years of experience with Maya, Zbrush and the Unity Editor (or other 3D game engines like Unreal) and love to create fun and interesting characters for a live-service, online game.

Understand how to work with asset limitations, project milestones, and risks  

Create high quality, detailed 3D character models and assets

Ensure art assets are performant and within budgets for draw calls, poly counts, and texture memory without compromising visual quality

Develop new character ideas that fit within conceptual designs, technical parameters, and production goals, for a live-service online game

Help define and maintain art production pipelines, tools, and systems to scale assets from high-end PCs to mobile Android VR headsets


Minimum of 5 years work experience in game development as a character artist using Maya (or 3DSMax), Photoshop, Zbrush or Mudbox  

Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback well

Excellent modeling, sculpting, material, and texturing skills for PBR

Expert in realistic characters with a solid understanding of character form

Solid knowledge in hi-poly modeling and digital sculpting

Strong knowledge of low poly modeling techniques

Ability to take a character to completion from either a detailed or simple concept image

Ability to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers

Deep understanding of asset optimization challenges/techniques in a shipped product

Excellent problem-solving and prototyping ability

Hands-on experience with game engines such as Unreal, Unity, or equivalent experience

Portfolio of highly detailed 3D art with a focus on realistic characters

Bonus Points

Strong background in AR or VR

Knowledge of hard surface modeling for armor and weapons

Passion for eSports

Experience with Perforce and/or Git

Strong knowledge of Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter

Experience in animation and rigging
