Smule today has 40 million monthly active users and is still growing at a fast pace. We’re looking for a seasoned product leader who can work directly with our San Francisco based platform teams to lead and develop a vision for delivering personalized content to our global network. 

The Ideal Candidate

Has a track record of building systems capable of curating and delivering content on a global scale 

Deep understanding of the complexities involved in serving audio and video content 

Is passionate about connecting the world through music 

Possesses strong decision making and prioritization skills 

Has been battle tested in a high intensity start-up environment 

Is creative and proactively dives into problems while refusing to settle for easy answers

Has experience navigating ambiguity and change with enthusiasm and a positive attitude 

Can communicate complex topics in a simple, effective manner to a variety of stakeholders

Is self motivated and thrives in fast-paced environments with a high degree of ownership and accountability 

Role / Responsibilities

Define and lead the strategy for Smule data platforms and data applications 

Work directly with our API and ML teams to develop and implement a strategy for scaling our content curation and delivery infrastructure

Motivate and inspire cross-functional stakeholders in a global organization 

Develop requirements for new features, products and services. Drive end-to-end development of these features from ideation to launch

Collaborate with leadership on long term strategy and how it translates into tactical product initiatives

Define, manage, and report on key performance indicators that measure product capabilities against business goals 

Requirements 

5+ years of experience in technical product management

3+ years of experience in product management related to content curation and delivery

Strong quantitative orientation a must; uses data and metrics to make sound product decisions but also understands how to collect and leverage qualitative feedback 

Deep understanding of community health and long-term user retention

Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with business and technical people

Relentlessly positive attitude, ability to inspire and motivate even during difficult times 

Preferred

Mathematics or CS background strongly preferred

Entrepreneurial experience (founder/co-founder)

Experience with notifications and CRM 

Experience with social group/clan/community systems design

Experience with machine learning / recommendation algorithms
