How we are protecting employees from COVID-19
At Imperfect Foods, employee health and safety is our top priority. We have implemented processes and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities. We provide gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all essential employees who must report to work. Before entering our warehouse, employees have their temperatures checked. In addition, we take great care to ensure frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day and all warehouses are fully sanitized weekly.
We have also implemented an Emergency Sick Leave policy providing full-time and part-time employees 2 additional weeks of paid time off and up to 26 weeks paid leave if they have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
About the Role:
We're looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and highly motivated problem-solver who lives and breathes transportation and logistics. No detail is too big or too small to be overlooked. The Delivery Manager will be responsible for safely and effectively managing our fleet of Delivery Drivers, 3PL providers, budget, IT, and other resources in a customer-focused and cost-efficient manner to meet business requirements and support profitable growth. This is a unique opportunity for a talented individual to get in on the ground floor of one of the most exciting startups in the sustainable food movement.


Team Management: 
      • Manage a team of Fleet Delivery Drivers
      • Develop and performance manage direct reports with an emphasis on productivity, efficiency, and customer service
Transportation Logistics  Management:
      • Schedule all daily routes to ensure timely pickup and deliveries of all products
      • Coordinate with warehouse to ensure proper storage and distribution of product
      • Prepare and manage all required shipping documentation
      • Coordinate daily linehaul shipments, which include in-house OTR drivers and 3PL
      • Develop and maintain all 3PL relationships
      • Effectively negotiate best freight rates and service
      • Ensure product is shipped at correct/optimum temperature
      • Track shipments and update Operations team as necessary
      • Ensure all shipment documentation is completed and filed properly
      • Research and resolve any late or missing loads
      • Create solutions for any-and-all transportation issues
      • Communicate effectively with all satellite locations and respond quickly to their needs
Fleet Management: 
      • Responsible for fleet/equipment management including maintenance repair and record-keeping 
      • Conduct safety audits of all equipment and vehicles while staying up to date with safety regulations
      • Enforce company policies in regards to shipping legislation
      • Oversees cost control by monitoring and reporting on all transportation cost and KPI performance
      • Reconcile any freight payment issues with accounting
      • Actively seek ways to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs, and meet budget

Skills and Qualifications:

      • 2+ years of experience in a delivery role
      • 3+ years of experience managing drivers
      • Preferred previous experience in produce transportation
      • Understands all parts of a logistics business – operations and cold chain

Details of Position:

      • Full-time exempt position reporting to the Director of Delivery
      • Position based out of City of Industry, CA
      • Salary and employee stock options commensurate with experience
      • Evening, weekend, and holiday work required occasionally

Physical Requirements:

      • Sedentary work; involves sitting most of the time
      • Occasional movement around the office may be necessary
