How we are protecting employees from COVID-19
 
At Imperfect Foods, employee health and safety is our top priority. We have implemented processes and precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities. We provide gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer to all essential employees who must report to work. Before entering our warehouse, employees have their temperatures checked. In addition, we take great care to ensure frequently touched surfaces are sanitized throughout the day and all warehouses are fully sanitized weekly.
 
We have also implemented an Emergency Sick Leave policy providing full-time and part-time employees 2 additional weeks of paid time off and up to 26 weeks paid leave if they have a confirmed case of COVID-19.
 
About the Role:
 
At Imperfect we are all about groceries on a mission. Since 2015, our services have saved over 100M lbs of food with 4.1M lbs of food donated along the way. We are swimming in interesting problems for our internal customers: operations, customer care, finance, and others. To help, we’re building a team dedicated to Operations Technology, responsible for areas such as order fulfillment, inventory management, delivery logistics, and customer care. This role will lead the planning, coordination, and collaboration between technology and departments throughout the company, guiding us as we build custom software and integrate vendor solutions. The right candidate needs to be a jack-of-all-trades with the ability to stretch from laying out a 3-year vision down to writing SQL queries to solve day-to-day problems.
 
This role is based out of our headquarters in San Francisco and reports to the Director of Engineering for Operations Technology.

Responsibilities:

    • Establish a vision of how technology will help run our business more efficiently and effectively
    • Partner with stakeholders throughout the company to thoroughly understand their business processes and pain points, then develop, socialize, and execute on the roadmap related to Operations Technology
    • Proactively identify ongoing opportunities for improvement, evangelizing the power of technology to improve internal operations and customer experience
    • Evaluate, select, and integrate with third-party vendors. Participate in build vs buy decisions

Skills and Qualifications:

    • 5+ years in a technology-centric role with a demonstrated record of impact and execution
    • Past experience in operations, fulfillment, and internal tooling
    • Firm technical foundation with professional experience programming and writing SQL queries
    • Prior experience with ERP systems (eg, NetSuite), CMS (eg, Salesforce and Zendesk), and other common enterprise software systems

Details of the Position:

    • Full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Engineering (Operations Technology)
    • Based out of our San Francisco location in the Bayview district
    • Domestic travel to new and existing local facilities required as needed
