IT/Desktop Support at Fetch Robotics

Fetch Robotics is a venture-backed Silicon Valley startup in San Jose, CA that will revolutionize the way work is done in large warehouses and delivery centers with innovative robotic solutions. Our team members are robotics experts with multidisciplinary backgrounds.  We are currently seeking a User and Systems Engineer (IT) to join the Fetch Team! 

Reporting to the Senior Systems Administrator, this role will assist with the availability, performance, security, and maintenance of the production infrastructure for Fetch Robotics. The candidate will aid in the provisioning, installation, configuration, and operation of systems, hardware and software, plus other related infrastructure projects. 

This is a dynamic role from handling incoming support tickets to assisting Fetch Team members on strategic architecture and networking improvements. 

The day-to-day will be a hybrid of desktop support and provisioning but you will also have input and oversight into strategic goals, solving hard problems to help Fetch run smoothly. 


Desktop Support/Troubleshooting

Laptop Provisioning

Administration of Msc Software (Creative Cloud, O365, Prey, LastPass)

Phone system administration

Triage of special requests: initial research and plan-to-proceed documentation in areas including but not limited to ISO and SOC compliance

Administration of Confluence sites (Intra Wiki redesign, IT wiki, Engineering wiki fixes

Administration of Jira (New users, troubleshooting, design and enhancement of Jira projects

IT Purchasing

AV management and design

Linux administration & scripting

Networking and security

G-Suite administration


(People in this role tend to have the following experience)

4+ years of professional experience in Networking and/or Systems Administration in a mixed OS environment. Operating systems must at a minimum include Ubuntu/Debian distributions as well as Windows 7 and 10.

4+ years of professional experience supporting corporate networks, including Cisco and other industry-standard switches and routers, plus firewall software and hardware and debugging tools (software or hardware).

4+ years of professional experience supporting network infrastructure services, including but not limited to DHCP, DNS, VPN, and secure protocols. Vyos/Vyatta experience a plus.

4+ years supporting a production environment working both in a team and, where required, solo.

4+ years of experience with logging and monitoring tools, such as Nagios, Groundwork, Big Brother, Sumologic, Solarwinds.


Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as C, C++, Perl, Python, Bash, and others.

Familiarity with automation tools such as ansible or puppet a plus.

Experience with some sort of VMI; Ovirt or QEMU a plus.- Nice to have

Ability to lift, rack and cable data closet hardware either with provision or in tandem with others
