About The Role
 
As the Executive Director of Marketing, you will lead the teams responsible for providing a holistic approach to driving growth through marketing programs that develop top of the funnel pipeline and cultivate sales qualified leads through sales development resources for Leanplum’s global sales teams.  In this role, you will be responsible for building, implementing, and delivering the demand generation and content marketing strategy and execution to drive revenue. Your responsibilities will include ensuring Leanplum has compelling and consistent messaging and collateral that supports the creation and conversion of the sales pipeline. This includes the development of lead generation and sales enablement assets (eBooks, whitepapers, special reports and other long-form content and webinars) as well as demand generation content (videos, listicles, blog posts, case studies and accessible resources that bolster brand awareness through highly ranked search). You will be able to convert the assets you create into sales leads through our global SDR team by managing the SDR process expert.  With a service orientation towards your internal customers and a passion for experimenting and reaching data-based conclusions, you will collaborate across marketing, sales, product, alliances, sales operations, and other internal functions to get early buy-in and to understand internal customer needs. You will track success metrics like sales productivity, pipeline conversion and velocity, effectiveness of marketing assets and SDR performance.

Responsibilities

    • Create and drive Demand Generation and Content Marketing strategy and execution plans
    • Create programs for all stages of the funnel that include; generating leads, nurturing them to generate MQLs, creating bottom-funnel programs to convert MQLs to opportunities, provide late-stage opportunity support to help close deals, and developing advocacy programs to achieve high retention
    • Design, plan and manage integrated demand generation campaigns that include measuring, analyzing and reporting on campaign effectiveness and manage performance through KPIs such as cost per lead and cost per acquisition
    • Own deliverables across the entire marketing funnel, track and optimize performance at each stage in the funnel, and create a predictable and healthy demand engine
    • Partner with the broader marketing team to optimize the web experience that is use-case focused and rich with contextual social proofing, rather than feature driven
    • Work with key, cross-functional stakeholders to define an optimized mix of assets and tools tailored by vertical, monetization models, company size, and persona, across the buyer’s journey that will drive engagement and conversion
    • Develop, lead and coach global marketing and SDR teams
    • Enhance marketing automation understanding across the business, with emphasis on lead nurturing, lead prioritization, lead routing, and driving funnel stage progression
    • Lead a global team of outsourced support including agency, design and websupport
    • Own content success metrics and analytics and obsessively track and measure the right results, gather insights and optimize content for conversion and SDR performance
    • Manage global SDR enablement creating and delivering global training programs that address core proficiencies for these roles, including their onboarding
    • Be accountable for all scope, budget and resource planning to meet desired objectives

Your Experience

    • Minimum of 12 years of related experience in developing, driving and implementing demand generation and content marketing strategies in a SaaS sales environment
    • Expertise with tools of the trade including Salesforce, Marketo, LinkedIn, Zoom, etc.
    • Minimum of 5 years of sales enablement, sales training, and/or consulting experience 
    • Strong project management, prioritization and organizational skills with ability to effectively manage multiple, large scale projects
    • Experience with content localization across multiple regions
    • Proven experience in developing effective measurement strategies, executing disciplined metrics tracking, analyzing data and translating it into key recommendations for action
    • Demonstrated track record of influencing and collaborating with cross-functional teams
    • Demonstrated ability to provide thought-leadership and creative thinking with a willingness to experiment and adjust based on data
    • Strong track record in providing constructive feedback as a coach and mentor for junior Marketers and SDRs using data and analytics to track success
    • Proven experience in developing effective measurement strategies, executing disciplined metrics tracking, analyzing data and translating it into key recommendations for action 
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make the complex simple to understand

Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Journalism or a related field of study, Master’s degree preferred
