Director of People at Tally

Tally makes people less stressed and better off financially through full financial automation. We’ve successfully launched Tally, the first and only fully automated debt manager to put billions of dollars back into people’s pockets. Currently backed by some of the world’s top investors, including Andressen Horowitz and Kleiner Perkins ($92MM in total funding to date), Tally’s vision is to automate people’s entire financial lives so they can be less stressed and better off financially.

Our Director of People role is a broad and dynamic position.  You will own the strategic implementation of HR, Talent Acquisition, Facilities, Compensation, and Inclusion & Diversity with culture being your ultimate north star. People and culture are important, strategic inputs that our critical necessities to the business’s success.

Role impact:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Tally’s business model and strategic vision in order to develop a People Strategy that compliments and contributes to company-level goals
  • Define, drive and institutionalize strategic goals for all aspects of the People function, including: inclusion, recruitment, learning and development, engagement, workforce planning, compliance, and company culture 
  • Operate as an advisor and resource who people trust for guidance on a range of professional challenges and questions
  • Own and develop all talent acquisition strategies in order to attract and retain highly sought after candidates
  • Develop and guide Tally leadership through strategic headcount and resource planning processes
  • Identify opportunities lead cross-functional HR efforts to help positively impact Tally retention, engagement and culture 
  • Manage Tally’s global HR systems, employee documentation, and ensure compliance with state and provincial laws
  • Ensure that Tally’s company values are a key input in all major decisions, programs, and processes as the business continue to scale
  • You are a culture advocate for Tally and serve as key cultural leader and advisor at all levels
  • Define, track and take action on the metrics and infrastructure that measures the success of Tally’s culture
  • Develop and scale Tally’s L&D programs that empower our managers and all Tallizens to reach their goals
  • Manage and scale Tally’s global compensation strategy with transparency and equitability

  • Ability to leverage good judgment and discretion, maintaining confidentiality and integrity especially around sensitive issues
  • Ability to expertly leverage people analytics to make data-driven decision
  • Exemplify flexible leadership by simultaneously being able to operate at a highly strategic level, but can also perform all tactical People Ops-related duties for the company
