Reporting to the Global Head of People & Culture, you will have strategic and operational oversight for global people programs and processes at Sendbird  across a variety of topics (systems & data, benefits, immigration, policy, process & compliance).

What you will do:

  • Building and professionalizing all people processes and systems that are set to scale domestically and internationally, while ensuring the highest data integrity.
  • Develop, maintain, interpret, and distribute worldwide and country-specific People Operations policies and procedures that will shape the employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable international, federal, state, and local employment laws by keeping up to date on the knowledge and understanding of regulations, laws and industry best practices.
  • Oversee employee onboarding experience from the very first touch through the first 3 months.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal and People to establish a scalable process for new country launch/entry as it relates to corporate functions
  • Manage all aspects of employee payroll including compliance with local law (tax, insurance, etc).
  • Manage all aspects of our global benefits programs, ensuring employee policies, education and support are consistent and clear.
  • Execute our immigration needs by working closely with Legal team and Immigration advisor to verify compliance with current policies.
  • Partner with global benefits brokers/vendors to review, update and administer benefits policies and programs, ensuring programs are competitive, compliant and scalable.
  • Establish and lead our immigration and relocation policies and programs, in collaboration with partners.

What You’ll Bring to Sendbird

  • Be a masterful designer and owner of processes, programs, and operations that scale to size.
  • Strong project management skills - ability to handle multiple projects at once and competing priorities. Organized, extremely detail oriented and execution focused a must!
  • Advanced knowledge of HR compliance, employment laws, best practices and industry standards
  • Understand and appreciate cultural differences and diversity when building global people programs and policies
  • A flexible leader who can operate at a strategic level but also perform all operational/tactical responsibilities
  • Superior communication skills and are comfortable talking to a wide range of people across all levels of the organization

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in HR/People Operations, preferably in a tech start-up environment
  • Experience managing people, preferably 5+ years and global management experience a plus
