The Role

Interplay Learning is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our team. The finance team works closely with functional departments across the company to drive decision making and help plan for the company’s future growth. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be working directly with senior leadership to analyze and solve business problems, structure processes to achieve efficiencies, and have a front-row seat as the company scales in a hyper-growth start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with financial reporting including the monthly close process, revenue and costing, and budget variance analysis
  • Maintain and improve company metric reporting and KPIs
  • Help the leadership team perform analytical tasks to guide strategic decision making
  • Calculate monthly sales commissions
  • Collaborate across functional departments and establish clear lines of communication and role responsibilities
  • Routinely evaluate the competitive and market landscape
  • Assist with general corporate responsibilities including HR processing, coordination of state filings, documentation, etc.
  • Coordinate with external audit contacts on an ongoing basis
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as needed in a start-up environment


  • 0-2 years in investment banking, consulting, private equity, financial analyst, etc.
  • Proven entrepreneurial spirit and appetite
  • Experience problem solving in an unstructured environment
  • Demonstrated familiarity of general business and accounting principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous experience building financial models a plus
  • Strong work ethic and team player mentality
