LiveIntent is one of America's highest-profile startup companies. LiveIntent is a fast-growing New York-based company that drives and develops the leading marketplace for e-mail-based advertisements. LiveIntent Berlin started as a German startup company in 2013 and was acquired by LiveIntent in November 2015. The team consists of people who have been in since 2013 and 10 new colleagues that joined since the LiveIntent acquisition. The team you will be part of develops and operates both an online, real-time service that gets millions of calls from the outside world and other LiveIntent components, and an offline batch-oriented analytical data processing pipeline that prepares data for the online service.


The Position:


We are seeking a technical writer who will help drive our documentation efforts in collaboration with both local and global engineering teams. In this role, you will be hands-on with the technologies LiveIntent monitors, as you create new and improve existing documentation for our APIs, SDKs, and community-developed integrations.




•     Partner with our engineering teams to create public user documentation throughout the application development life cycle.

•     Dig into source code for internally developed systems to collect technical details for documentation.

•     Help with the creation and maintenance of user manuals

•     Create developer-facing documentation and training materials for LiveIntent’s SDKs and APIs to foster our developer community's growth.

•     Collaborate with our open source community to develop documentation standards.




•     You have publicly available technical writing samples.

•     Strong Project Management experience

•     Experience with setting up processes and making decisions throughout the project lifecycle

•     Knowledge of gap analysis and assessing the differences in performance between systems

•     You enjoy self-driven study and education on new technologies and languages.

•     You have written or managed distributed systems.

•     You can transform dry technical subjects into engaging, informative, and interesting educational materials.

We are an international business with a lot of contact between our different offices. The position is located in our office in Berlin. We believe in freedom and flexibility under the responsibility. Your time in the office can largely be adapted so it suits you. If you feel the need to work from home one day, it is totally fine, as long as you deliver on your commitments. Likewise, you have free choice of working device (Linux, Mac, Windows), as long as you can troubleshoot and maintain it yourself. If you want to introduce new technology to our stack it is ok, as long as you can vouch for it yourself.


Formally, the position is a standard position of 37 hours in the office Prenzlauer Berg(Backfabrik). The position is open and available as soon as possible.
