Nextdoor’s global Public Agency team partners with thousands of government agencies and public service providers to help them communicate more effectively with our members.

Meet your Future Neighbors

Our Account Management and Operations team supports our public agency and service provider partners as we onboard them onto our platform, provides technical assistance as they begin using our tools, and helps them understand how to use the platform successfully. You will work closely with our sales team in the technical evaluation phase of our partnerships, our operations team to implement new accounts on our platform in addition to support partners with technical issues, and our product and engineering teams to prioritize platform improvements. Our team is highly collaborative and focused on providing our partners with exceptional service at a large scale.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent writing skills, a high emotional IQ, and an ability to communicate with partners who have a wide range of technical skills. Candidates ideally have experience working closely with public sector partners and software development teams, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) experience is required. Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Evaluate, build, and implement new accounts on the Nextdoor for Public Agencies platform
  • Build and manage strong external relationships with our public agency and service provider partners.
  • Build and manage strong internal relationships with our sales, operations, product, and engineering teams. 
  • Develop strong technical expertise to better educate partners on their use of our platform.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback to internal marketing, product, and engineering teams to drive product innovation.

What You’ll Bring to The House

  • Basic to intermediate experience with GIS software (QGIS preferred)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially with written communications. 
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts (ex. GIS processes) to our internal and external partners with no prior experience.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills. 
  • 2+ years of experience in account management, preferably at a software company.
  • Comfortable quickly learning and implementing new technical skills and software.
  • Comfortable working in time sensitive situations. 

Bonus Points

  • Experience working with government or public service (ex. energy and water utilities) agencies.
