Facilities and Workplace Operations Manager at Starship Technologies

To continue this mission, we are now looking for a Facilities Manager to join our team to support the world of facilities for Starship hubs and offices in the US, more specifically take care of arranging and organizing facilities for our physical workplaces for both existing and new sites to be opened, and describe the ways of working and processes needed for keeping the hubs running and in order.

In this job role, your responsibilities would include:

    • Handling inventory management
    • Conducting facilities risk assessments
    • Conducting negotiations for ongoing real estate and facilities initiatives by collaborating cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders. We will also count on you to optimize strategic plans and deliver on all aspects of projects, including building readiness and maintenance, safety, and other site utilities. 
    • Making sure we are compliant with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and OSHA (incl building Material Safety Data Sheets)
    • Handling facility infrastructure (projects) management (electrical works, connectivity, physical security)
    • Ensure we have proper disposal systems and processes in place and functioning for regulated materials
    • Procurement of various goods and services needed onsite
    • Handling partner relationships and processes - incl managing landlords, vendors and contractors
    • Providing analysis and support for location strategy discussions
    • Standardising hub layouts and defining setup procedures
    • Planning and managing facilities budgets across the hubs

To be set up for success in this role, you will need:

    • 5+ years of experience in workplace management or facilities management (multi-location workplace management is preferred)
    • Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors
    • Experience working in a fast-moving organization with a focus and a high proportion of remote employees
    • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment as demonstrated by previous projects 
    • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills
    • To be a sharp problem-solver 
    • Experience managing direct and indirect team members
    • Project management skills
    • Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations 
    • Process and data-oriented mindset to notice and solve inefficiencies
    • The ability to travel between sites (approx 15-20% of time)
