Who you are:

You are excited about enabling innovative, low cost space systems.
You enjoy team collaboration and are an effective communicator with the ability to operate independently.

Responsible for:

Development, analysis, and verification of mission flight trajectory concepts
Analysis to support regulatory requirement conversations
Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all regulatory requirements are met to successfully launch, including verifying range requirements
Designing Spacecraft System level concept models for use in contracts and proposals
Designing a mission with external stakeholders


Spacecraft mission design and/or mission planning experience
Ability to develop, analyze, and verify mission flight trajectory concepts in Systems Tool Kit or similar tool (if not STK, ability to ramp up quickly on STK)
Knowledge of scripting/scientific computing tools such as Python, MATLAB etc.
Ability to analyze various mission scenarios with various types of propulsion systems, from electric to chemical, as well as thruster configurations
Knowledge of control systems (torque rods, reaction wheels, etc.)
U.S. Person including U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Be willing to commute to Santa Monica, CA 3 days a week
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related technical field

Additional Qualifications:

Familiarity with control systems, robotics, and PID tuning
Passion for space/innovation
Systems engineering or technical project management experience
Experience in a complex system lifecycle including requirements, verification, validation, etc
Spacecraft integration and test experience
HAM radio license or interest in HAM
Versatile and able to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment
Experience designing complex fabric shapes


$70,000 - $85,000 based on experience
