Who you are:

You enjoy collaboration and are an effective communicator who has worked with electrical and mechanical engineering teams on mission-level and customer driven system needs and planning.
Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven atmosphere.
Excited about making smarter, better, extremely low cost space systems for flight and test environments.
You collaborate with software teams to ensure that software specifications are suitable for both hardware and software development.
Work with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure avionics size, weight, and power needs are in line with system-level constraints.
Coordinate with vendors of avionics products, both software and hardware, to ensure products are delivered within expectations.
Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking, organizational, communication and documentation skills
Strong sense of accountability and integrity with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for space and curiosity for electronics in high-reliability applications
Be located in (or willing to relocate to) Santa Monica, CA.


Responsible for:

Driving the development and maintenance of electrical hardware  needed for payload and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) technologies.
Work with engineers across payloads, GNC, avionics, firmware, software, propulsion to maintain HITL simulation capabilities
Rapidly design and develop test hardware solutions for high-fidelity simulation of full satellite mission duration
Responsible for electrical architecture, product requirements, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, debugging, documentation, product management, manufacturing, and test for the simulation infrastructure for payloads and HITL testbeds



Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
1+ years of experience with circuit board design, environment testing, or unit level testing (project teams, internships, and traditional professional experience all qualify)
1+ years of experience with electronic components, wire harnesses, and electrical test equipment (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
Proficient in C/C++
Familiarity with microcontroller/firmware programming


Preferred Skills and Experience

Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar engineering degree
Experience with Altium Designer (schematic capture and PCB layout)
Understanding of electrical schematics and experience analyzing electrical circuits and developing functional test plans
Understanding of instrumentation, interfaces, and sensors including DMMs, DAQ, power supplies, oscilloscopes, DIO, GPIB, USB, Serial-422, VISA, UDP, GigE, SPI, switch technologies and topologies, accelerometers, RTDs, thermocouples, and 4-20mA sensors
Experience writing test automation or analysis tasks and manipulation of data sets
Proficiency in scripting languages: Python, etc.

A plus!

Experience with classical and optimal control and estimation algorithms and implementation, such as PID, Kalman Filters etc.
Experience in a complex system lifecycle including requirements, verification, validation, etc



$70-$85k, based on experience
