LiveIntent is looking for an experienced Manager, Software Engineer to join our US Engineering team. We are looking to scale our US Engineering team to tackle a growing list of projects and initiatives according to the upcoming product roadmap. As a Manager, Software Engineering your primary responsibility will be leading a team of engineers. In this role, you are hands-on with the code and have a proven history of strong delivery of software and a tendency and strength in leading others to do the same. You'll work in an agile environment with talented, cross-functional teams to design, implement, and iterate on products that satisfy customer needs and steer company growth.
Responsibilities:
Guide, develop, and mentor engineers as they build scalable products and tackle challenges whilst still helping LiveIntent execute on it’s product road map.
Responsible for performance evaluations as well as providing reviews/feedback
Aid in design of scalable, forward-looking UIs and APIs, pioneering best practices and working closely with designers to ensure a great user experience
Develop and maintain existing UIs, APIs and applications utilizing modern web frameworks such as React/NextJS, Angular, Laravel, and modern CSS frameworks
Work closely with our product team to meet feature objectives while delivering software that improves our stack
Implement standards and best practices, paying attention to non-functional requirements (such as security, reliability, performance, maintainability, scalability, and usability)
Update and maintain existing transactional and analytical databases as part of the delivery of features
Guide more junior engineers both by example and through one on one mentoring
Qualifications:
A minimum of 6 years of experience in Software Engineering
A minimum of 2 years of Management experience in a Software Engineering environment is preferred
Extensive experience with the usual front end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and/or backend languages (PHP and TypeScript are preferred; our stack also includes Python, NodeJS, Go, and Java)
Experience in crafting and debugging SQL queries against data sources such as MySQL and Postgres
Proficiency with NoSQL technologies such as Redis
Experience in Cloud Computing; an emphasis AWS and Docker is preferred
Proficiency in performing code reviews across multiple tech stacks
Experience with Agile methodologies and unit testing
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, CI/CD methodologies, and Test Automation
Strong communication skills and ability to work in both a team environment and independently
We are remote-first with offices located in NYC, Berlin and Copenhagen to give team members places to come together and collaborate. These locations are open for those that would prefer to work from a company office location on a more frequent basis. You chose what works best for you.

The base salary for this position begins at $140,000 with a maximum salary opportunity of $190,000. When determining compensation for roles, we look at qualifications needed for the position along with the mix of required and preferred skills/experiences, market data, and existing team equity. We rarely hire an individual into a position at the top of the salary band due to the belief that we are hiring people into roles that also challenge them to learn and grow. The band highlights that potential. We put an emphasis on growth and development through our performance and compensation reviews 2x a year in parallel with ongoing conversions with your manager throughout the year.
